Lateral hires bolster national firm’s environment team
A national law firm has announced it has appointed two to the partnership, who join from Norton Rose Fulbright and Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
Allens has revealed it has appointed Felicity Rourke and Jillian Button as partners in its environment and planning practice.
In their new roles at Allens, Ms Rourke will take to the firm’s Sydney office, while Ms Button will join the firm’s Melbourne office.
Ms Rourke brings to the firm experience in working on the full range of planning and environmental matters across a range of industry sectors including commercial, retail, residential and industrial developments.
Meanwhile, Ms Button is described as a multidisciplinary planning and environmental specialist, with an avid focus on property development, water and waste issues and infrastructure matters.
“We are delighted to be welcoming them both,” said Allens managing partner Richard Spurio.
“They bring complementary skills to the existing environment and planning team and will be very valuable additions.”
Allens head of projects and development Emma Warren congratulated the pair on their new appointments.
“Given our very strong pipeline of work on government projects, major infrastructure opportunities and a range of development opportunities, increasing our environment and planning team’s depth and breadth made good business sense,” she said.
“Clients really value specialised advice on complex planning matters. Both Felicity and Jillian have that specialist expertise and enhance the offering of our environment and planning team.”
